    For more information on growing olives, please contact your county's farm advisor.  They can offer the best information for your region.  If your county is not on this list, please contact us and we will try to put you in the right direction.

  • Can you come out to my farm and test my soil, or tell me what varieties of olives are growing on my property?
    We cannot visit your property but we suggest you getting in contact with your local farm advisor for more information.

  • Can you come out to my property and pick my olives?
    No, but we do receive requests occasionally from people wishing to pick olives.  If you send us your name and email address, we can try to put you in touch with someone.
  • Can we come onto the UC Davis campus and pick olives?
    We cannot permit anyone to pick olives on the UC Davis campus, but we do receive requests occasionally from people wishing to have someone pick olives on their property.  If you send us your name and email address, we can try to put you in touch with someone.
  • I am interested in finding an intern for my upcoming harvest; can you assist me?
    Yes, if you send your name and specific needs for an intern to the olive center, we can try to put you into contact with an interested student.
